Good times at Ikea

 

I'll take any excuse to go to Ikea (we need a new 99 cent toilet bowl brush?  lint roller refills?  yes!).  I resisted a few impulse purchases and took pics instead.  Loving their colorful textiles this summer.  And I got a bag (or two) of my new favorite thing, their fruit gummy candy.  The flavors are floral and fruity, not quite definable to the American palate, but totally great.  I ate the whole bag on the 15 minute drive home.

Lately on Instagram...

Summer is officially here.  Mom and I went to our favorite place, Tea & Sympathy.  Then Duck and I joined Chris on an overnight business trip to New England.  Our rule is that dogs are only allowed to sleep in bed on vacation - and he loved every minute.  New England is so pristine.  Instead of the usual nasty garbage Duck finds on our neighborhood streets, the only thing he could find there was a fallen ice cream cone.  So picturesque!

Too hot for Frenchies

 

Today was our first really hot day, my phone says 90 degrees right now.  That is not good for our Duck.  Poor guy needs some new toys!  Empty hand cream tubes are getting old fast and it's going to be a long, hot summer.

Our Ducky is such a ham.  That tongue is always hanging out to some extent.  There are many variations: sleepy tongue, crazy tongue, folded, crinkled, sideways slanted.  We love our cute & crazy boy.

Bloglovin' test

I am way overdue to update here!  We are doing well and keeping busy.  We finally had three light fixtures changed out, painted the kitchen cabinets, hung curtains in the living room.   I need to take some pics to document the progress!  I've had some good vintage finds lately and I'm excited to get back to the Brooklyn Flea this spring and summer.

In other news, I can't believe that Google Reader is ending.  Why?  I'm now checking out Bloglovin' and trying to adjust!  More to come soon...

Winter

I truly love winter.  It's quiet outside and cozy inside.  It was a little sad to say goodbye to everything Christmas, but we moved on and are enjoying quiet times inside, trips to the dog park, cozy sweatpants.

 For New Year's, we went to Virginia to see family... and we found Duckling Drive!  A street named after our little guy.

Looking forward to 2013.  I'm trying to finish some projects that I started (a year ago) around the apartment!  And get the shop in great shape.  Happy new year!
